What is it like in the Northeast?
| Climate: | The temperature is hot and warm in the summer and cold in the winter. The moisture level is wet year round. |
| History: | Known for the Pilgrims, the first English-speaking settlers of America. Boston, New York, Baltimore, and Philadelphia are among the Northeasts oldest cities. |
| Population: | The population of the Northeast is about 57 million people. The people mostly live in cities and suburbs. |
| Landforms: | The landforms of the Northeast are coasts, plains, highlands, and mountains. |
| Business: | The people in the Northeast work in mostly "service" jobs. There is also a great deal of manufacturing, too. Goods such as clothing, books, paper, and electronics are popular items made in this region. The natural resources of the Northeast include the Atlantic Ocean, fish, and trees. |
